Frequently asked questions.

What should I wear? Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow your clinician to see and feel the areas of your body that are being treated. Since we approach care with a whole-body approach, a t-shirt/tank top and shorts/leggings/comfy pants are best.

What should I expect at my initial appointment? At your initial assessment your physiotherapist will spend some time getting to know you, and understanding the reasons for your consultation. After hearing your story, she will do a hands on whole body physical assessment which will involve you moving into some of the positions or movements that add to or ease your symptoms. She will work with you to determine what may be going on in your body to create this expression of dis-ease.  Together you will decide which treatment strategies will help you to move and feel better.

How long do PT sessions last? Initial assessments are booked for 1 hour.  One on one treatment sessions are typically booked for 30 minutes.  There is the possibility for 1 hour treatment sessions if needed.

What is virtual physiotherapy?  Virtual Physiotherapy is the delivery of health care services over the internet and other communication networks. It typically involves the use of video and voice conferencing to share home management strategies and exercises, all privately and securely.

What are the small group yoga classes? Kristine offers small group movement classes at different locations in the community. These are by pre-registration and are kept to a small number to ensure quality personalized programming.   Please connect with Kristine, or add yourself to the waitlist if you are interested in learning more.

I was injured at work. Do you treat WCB injuries? The clinicians at Mosaic are not authorized providers for WCB injuries, and are thus unable to bill WCB for any work related injuries. We are unable to treat WCB injuries.

I had a car accident - what should I do? If you were involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) and sustained bodily injuries in that collision, you are entitled to benefits regardless of who was at fault. The first step is to submit an AB-1 form to your insurance company as soon as you are able. You then need to be assessed by a healthcare provider (GP, Physio or Chiropractor) within 10 days of the accident, and then he/she/they will complete the other required documentation and provide you with further information about how post - MVA care works. If you are seeking treatment for MVA - related injuries please let your clinician know immediately.

Does Alberta Health Care cover my physio at Mosaic? The clinicians at Mosaic do not have contracts with AHS and thus are unable to provide post surgical/post fracture care that is financially funded by AHS.  Many local clinics do however have AHS contracts and some funding is available at those clinics.  Please refer to the Alberta Health Services Website and search under “physiotherapy” for a list of clinics that provide this funding option.

Will my benefits pay for my physio at Mosaic? Please check with your benefit provider to see what coverage you have for services offered at Mosaic.  Your clinician will provide you with a receipt for services that can be submitted for reimbursement.

How do I book an initial assessment? We want to meet you! Please contact your preferred clinician at Mosaic directly by email or phone to discuss options and timing for booking an initial assessment. Please know that as a micro-clinic Mosaic operates without a receptionist and thus using our online booking system is often the easiest and most efficient way to connect with us. Please know that you will hear from us in a timely manner, and we will do our best to ensure you get access to the best clinician for your needs.

How do I book or reschedule treatments? As a micro-practice, Mosaic operates without the use of a full time receptionist. We offer instead convenient access to our online booking system so that you may cancel, reschedule, or book treatments at any time.  Please know that you may also contact your clinician for further booking, cancelling, and rescheduling information.

What is your cancelation Policy? We are a very busy clinical practice. We ask that if you need to cancel that you please give us 24 hours notice so that we may offer your allocated treatment time to another client. Any no-shows and last minute cancellations will be billed the cost of a treatment session (or a bottle of good wine or tequila). Please know however that the health and safety of you and all our clients is our utmost concern. We will not charge for any last minute cancelations for anything related to safety ( like nasty road conditions) or health (like the flu or COVID-19 symptoms).

COVID -19 considerations - Like most people worldwide, we are incredibly concerned about the risk of Covid-19 and variants and are committed to preventing its spread.  Know that Mosaic follows all AHS and Physiotherapy Alberta guidelines regarding infection control, public health and safety.  Every clinician and client is screened before entering the clinic.   To help us with this please complete the COVID-19 screening that is sent to the email address you have on file prior to coming to your appointment, continue to arrive wearing a mask and sanitize your hands upon entering the clinic.
